This site is only a guide to what we offer and most stock is not given here. As no digital image, however sophisticated (or misleading) the technology, can capture the real beauty of the original we do not sell over the internet.

We aim to deliver our service in a convenient central location, a friendly setting and at mutually pre-arranged times. We always welcome queries and endeavour to respond as promptly as possible. We choose our works according to their aesthetic as well as art-historical importance and believe passionately in the extra satisfaction given by pieces which, because of their beauty, carry with them the histories of their previous patrons.

We believe that these private collectors have a central role to play in the preservation and transmission of our heritage alongside museums and we therefore make a point of guiding new collectors.

Every item is guaranteed and most are subject to detailed research by recognised scholars and experts. More than art of almost any period in history, medieval works have been subject to extensive and often deliberate destruction. Any existing restoration is therefore always indicated.

We also correspond in French, Dutch, German and Italian.

Items can be reserved by email, telephone, fax or post. Shipping is normally by (international) courier, unless otherwise agreed. Shipping costs are variable and will be discussed. For payment details see below.

Goods remain the property of Marc Antoine du Ry until disbursed in full. If found unsatisfactory, goods can be returned within 10 days of purchase. Payment can be in Sterling, US Dollars or Euros. We accept cheques, drafts or transfers.
